The 72-hour block on WhatsApp in Brazil was overturned by a different judge following an appeal from WhatsApp. This follows the decision by a separate judge to temporarily ban WhatsApp in Brazil owing to their inability to decrypt encrypted data which may have been useful for investigation in a drug case.
NextVR is teaming up with Live Nation to broadcast live concerts in Virtual Reality. However, details have not yet emerged on which shows will be available on the VR platform, although the promise is for a regular supply of live music shows. A new update is scheduled for the Beta Marshmallow firmware for eligible Sony devices. Along with a whole host of bug fixes, the new beta firmware will also bring back Stamina and Ultra Stamina mode. It seems YU is getting ready to announce a new smartphone later this month that will allegedly "redefine flagships." Graphic designer and Icon Pack creator Eduardo Pratti recently spotted a new feature that looks to be rolling out to the YouTube for Android application. While watching a video, Eduardo spotted an unannounced Autoplay toggle right under a video he was watching. It's likely this will be a server-side switch style of rollout instead of the traditional application update.
The market intelligence company Newzoo recently ran an online survey about VR that included 35,000 people around the world. They were asked if they plan on buying VR products in the next 6 months. Spain and Italy top the list with 16% and 14% respectively, followed by the United States with 12%. This survey included both dedicated VR headsets as well as MobileVR solutions like the Gear VR or Google Cardboard.
