Access Notifications from a Full Screen Launcher with NotificationBrowser
If you have ever used a full-screen launcher on your Android device, the first thing you likely missed was easy access to the notification shade. Android has a very elaborate notification system, and not having easy access from the home screen can make one feel a bit handicapped. While full-screen launchers typically offer alternate means to access notifications, they are usually not quite as simple or predictable as simply dragging down from the top of the screen. What if you had an app or home screen widget that you could use to access your notifications in such a scenario? That’s exactly what XDA Senior Member dapaua made and shared, in form of NotificationBrowser.
NotificationBrowser works like any normal app. Tapping its icon brings up an interface with all your Android notifictions. You can dismiss them from there, or tap on them to open their default app or action in the same way as you would in the notification drop-down. There is also a widget that displays the latest notifications directly on your home screen.
The app is a recent release, and has several bugs that need to be ironed out. Nevertheless, it is usable enough for basic notification access and management.
You can learn more and grab the app from the application thread.
