Getting an Android device to work is no easy feat. There is a lot of work that goes way past rom cooking, particularly when dealing with ports. This is particularly true when it comes to the kernels. Most end users will likely see a rom that is presented with fixes and this can usually lead to the misconception that the fix was done in the rom as opposed to the kernel. After much work by several XDA members including Decad3nce, riemervdzee, and Elemag , XDA member s0be has decided to release his port of 2.6.35 out into the wild and it seems that the dev did a good job as all sensors, radios, etc are working right out of the box. A very good day for Hero users indeed!
Everything should be working fine right now, but please leave any feedback if you come across any errors.
I now consider this Release Candidate quality. Please do report issues (with logcats and dmesgs). Check the known bugs, etc, etc.
You can find more information in the kernel thread.
