Despite its age, the original Transformer keeps going and stays competitive in this fast paced market that renders most devices obsolete within 6 months of release. As of late, we have seen much good development coming out of the forums for this particular device. Additions to its repertoire include fully functional Jelly Bean AOSP roms, new mods for increasing performance such as the KAT suite, and much more. However, as you may or may not know, the TF101 has a close relative called the TF101G, which unlike the original TF101, comes with an on board GSM radio chip for 3G connectivity. (For those with the TF101 who want 3G, you can add this functionality via a USB dongle.) Because of this not-so-slight hardware difference, anyone willing to test JB on their G model had to sacrifice the use of 3G.
Since this is an inconvenience for many, XDA Forum Member RaymanFX decided to try his hand at providing people with the gift of 3G on JB. He just released an untested build (hence the “WIP” tag on the thread) of CM10 with this functionality enabled. Having said that, the dev has been unable to test it due mainly to not having a G model of the device. However, he is asking of people who do have the tab to test and provide feedback in the form of logcats.
Please take the build for a spin and report any issues you may come across. Just remember that this is an untested build, so you may run into issues. RaymanFX will be posting his source later so you can take a crack at fixing the issues yourself if you have the ability, thus helping with development as well. Happy flashing!
Hi xda, I think we’ve worked very hard on JellyBean roms and there are numerous famous releases, like
- Team EOS 3
- My CyanogenMod 10
- My LiquidSmooth
- Paranoid Android
.But unfortunately, those roms were made for the Asus Transformer TF101, and TF101G users had to either stay at ICS or miss their 3G/GSM functionality.
