Access and Stream Your Device’s Content with DroidXPlorer

DroidXPlorer for Android

There are several tools out there that let you access the content of your Android device from your PC, including some that let you access and control it through the web browser. At first glance, DroidXPlorer may seem to be just another one of them. It runs on your Android device and lets you browse and download files from your phone over WiFi from your PC or any other device, right inside the web browser, without the need to install any separate client on your PC. What makes DroidXPlorer different however, is the ability to directly stream media files in the web browser, without downloading them from your Android device first.

The interface is quite minimal, yet functional. You just have to launch the app on your Android device and activate it, and it will give you the link for accessing it in the web browser. The browser interface offers a nice thumbnail view and lets you browse the files by location or media type.

Developed by XDA Forum MemberĀ MetalDroid, DroidXPlorer is currently released, and is in active development. Right now, you can’t transfer files to the device or delete files, but it is on the developer’s to-do list. For more information and the download link, visit theĀ forum thread.
