One of the many interesting features loaded in the much awaited new version of Jelly Bean (4.2) aside from the keyboard, Photo Sphere, and all the improvements and bug fixes, are the extended toggles added in the notification bar. Not every ROM has this feature enabled unfortunately, and the ones that do provide you with toggles that you may or may not need. Because of this, you will likely have to wait for some genius to add the ones you need and implement them in new versions of your favorite ROM… Or you could do it yourself. How you ask? Read on.
XDA Recognized Developer lithid-cm put together a wonderful guide in the knowledge-full area of XDA, also known as Chef Central. The guide explains step-by-step how to mod your favorite ROMs to add your very own set of quick toggles. The dev decided to keep the guide simple, even though more details could have been added. However, simplicity sometimes is a good thing, particularly for young starting devs who may still be trying to get a good feel for Android development.
So, what are you waiting for? If you have been itching to get your most commonly used toggles in there, now is your chance to do it and learn something new in the process. Give it a go and share your results with the rest of the community.
This is just going to be a quick rundown on what do to add new toggles to android new QuickSettings system.
