There is a thread in the Advent Vega section, created by XDA member Zebwen which deals with a Honeycomb port for this device. Please note that this project was started over at TabletRoms, which is the original source for the port. The dev as well as a few other devs, including XDA members newbe5 & Corvus, have been working hard and created a bit of a hybrid port with pieces of the SDK, the Motorola Xoom, and the ASUS Trasnformer. The port was not bad but suffered from many of the bugs that plague most other Honeycomb ports, the most notorious one being the lack of hardware acceleration. This missing piece makes the OS run like molasses when it comes to animations and screen transitions. Well, thanks to collaboration with several other members, particularly XDA member HomerSp, the HW acceleration is a problem that will no longer be faced. This is a major development in this OS due to the fact that without the actual source, this was deemed an impossible fix by many people who have tried to implement the port in other devices. The post in question has a video of the Advent Vega running a very (and I do mean very) smooth Honeycomb port.
The port itself is not finished but more importantly, this development could potentially bleed into other devices to get HC running properly, even before the source code hits the streets. If you do get to try this port, please post some feedback.
FRESH TODAY 9th May 2011 11:30AM EDT
Cross collaboration between devs of sister tablets in the ##adamroot freenode IRC channel this morning!
Devs: HomerSp got hardware acceleration working, newbe5 got it working on the Advent Vega (video demo below) and DJ_Steve applied them to the Adam HC rom and confirmed to now be working smoothly!
You can find more information in the port thread.
