Alt Tab Your Way Around Your Desire Z with QuickSwitch

Alt Tab Your Way Around Your Desire Z with QuickSwitch

Ahh… the Desire Z. Without a doubt, an excellent piece of hardware with the OS to match. All sorts of possibilities open up when you have a hardware keyboard on a device and this is not the exception. XDA member Stratrix decided to make an “Alt Tab” type of application to assign keys from the keyboard to launch your favorite apps. Basically, you assign an x number of apps to a particular key and whenever that key is pressed. What about the Alt Tab you ask? By pressing the coma button in your hardware keyboard, you can go back and forth between apps currently running in your device.

Please leave some feedback for the dev to see if there is any room for improvement.

Story:

I am a proud Desire Z owner and have to say the Vision is amazing with its keyboard. One thing I still hate about day to day tasks is switching between Google Talk and MSN apps. I hate reaching up to the notification bar from the keyboard.

So I wrote an app to solve this problem. I call it QuickSwitch.

By taking advantage of the quick keys on the keyboard, I wrote an app that basically launches other apps. It’s configurable which apps you want favourit-ed and how many running apps to show. I also made it mimic alt-tab function by pressing Quick key 1 and comma. This would switch back and forth between apps very quickly.

You can find more information in the application thread.
