Android 4.2.2 / Sense 5 OTA Rolling out for the HTC One X+

Android 4.2.2 / Sense 5 OTA Rolling out for the HTC One X+

For HTC One X+ users who have been patiently waiting for an update to Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5, that wait is nearly over. For some lucky users in Asia, the OTA has already been pushed to the device, bringing them inline with more recent HTC devices. It adds HTC-specific features such as Blinkfeed, enhancements to the Sense music player, and of course the usual generic Android features that came with version 4.2.

The OTA was posted to the forums yesterday afternoon by XDA Recognized Contributor LlabTooFeR, and weighs in at a fairly hefty 485 MB. Unfortunately, most users will be unable to take advantage of it at the moment, unless their device has the relevant CID (HTC_621). It does, however, mean that 4.2-based custom ROMs for the device are on the horizon and should be making an appearance sometime soon.* If your device does happen to have the designated CID and you have not as yet received the OTA, you can flash this manually via recovery.

It’s likely that the OTA will begin rolling out in the US and Europe shortly. But until that time, you can keep up to date with the feedback on this latest update and download it yourself in the original thread.
