Android on the Horizon for HD2?

Android on the Horizon for HD2?

Unfortunately Android is still a long wait for the HD2, but booting a linux kernel is a lot closer! XDA developer dcordes and other clever XDA peeps have managed to get a booting kernel together, capable of displaying full 720p video without acceleration.

Although this is still far from reaching the finish line, this is a huge step towards running Android on the popular HTC Leo which still runs on Windows Mobile. Many hardware drivers are missing (sound, graphics, phone…to name a few) for the linux environment and the HD2 gets extremely hot when running haret, plus expect to get a few random bluescreens.

However, let’s not take anything away from the work that’s gone into this so far.  Once the devs have managed to make a 100% working kernel, with all the drivers, the next step will be getting Android to work!
