Jelly Bean has made its way across these forums at a fever-pitch. Practically every day, we report on another device receiving support in some form, and the list continues to grow. Now, thanks to Team EaglesBlood and XDA Recognized Developer doniqcc, T-Mobile G2x owners have received a pre-alpha AOSP build of JellyBean and now can join in on all the hype.
According to EaglesBlood, there will be no support provided for this release, as it is still in development. The guys from EaglesBlood just wanted to give the G2x community a taste of JellyBean and give users the chance to take the latest version of Android for a spin. This is a “barebones” AOSP build, and is not yet fully functional. The developerss are fully aware of what is working and what is not, and ask that users please not report problems or bugs at this time. According to their running list of things currently broken:
*Audio doesn't work *Data tends to cut off at times. A "hot-reboot" usually fixes it and this is due to audio not working. *Phone will not enter 'Sleep Mode', again due to audio malfunctioning. *Mobile Data Network: Data IS working, but you might need to cause the phone to hot-reboot (...easiest way is by connecting to non-encrypted network, which in turn usually fails.) It's due to a SIM-card thing... *On cold-boot the SIM card status is not correct.
