Update: It looks like Google Drive also received a minor update to version 22.214.171.124 (up from last week’s 126.96.36.199). We’ve gone ahead and mirrored it at the bottom of this post. Many thanks to XDA Portal Supporter MihirGosai for the heads up and APK!
Well folks, we’ve got ourselves yet another Google Update Wednesday! Earlier today, Google issued a fairly substantial update to its recently released Google Camera app, which brought back the ability to take image snapshots while recording video. And yesterday, we received a fantastic update to Google Maps 8. Now, we’ve got our hands on five more application updates from our future robot overlords.
First up, we have Google Wallet. Today’s update brings everyone’s favorite mobile payment application to version 2.0-R163-v17. In this new version, we basically have a bunch of UI tweaks, as well as the newfound ability to control multiple wallet accounts from within the app. In addition, the orders menu received a nice revamp, “Offers” was moved outside of the app to a new Offers website, and the app now gives notifications regarding delivery status.
Docs and Sheets received updates from the initial release versions 188.8.131.52 and 184.108.40.206 to 220.127.116.11 and 18.104.22.168, respectively. This update to both apps seems to have brought only one noticeable change: There is now a shortcut to the recently updated Google Drive app from within the slideout “hamburger menu” in both Sheets and Docs. Cloud Print also received an update to version 0.9.10, bringing the ability to add printers from the print setup page within your Settings menu.
Next, we have a spattering of other, even more minor (probably bugfix) updates. Google Search, which was recently updated to 22.214.171.1243430 just last Wednesday, is now up to version 126.96.36.1999292. YouTube a;sp received an update to version 5.6.36, up from 5.6.31 a little under a month ago. Unfortunately, no visible/major changes appear to have been made in any of these—either in their menus or in gross functionality. And as to be expected, there is no change to the “What’s New” segment in the Play Store listing. Because of this, we have the feeling that these updates are simply miscellaneous bugfixes. That said, bugfixes are better than no updates, so download away.
These updates are gradually making their way out to consumer devices via their listings on the Google Play Store. But of course, not every device will get them in the initial wave. Luckily, we’ve gone ahead and uploaded the APKs to our Dev-Host account:
- Google Search 188.8.131.529292 (ARM)
- Google Wallet 2.0-R163-v17
- Google Docs 184.108.40.206
- Google Sheets 220.127.116.11
- YouTube 5.6.36
- Google Cloud Print 0.9.10
- Google Drive 18.104.22.168
