AppGrouper – Now Available for Android

If you look at all the diffeent launchers available for Android devices, you will more than likely notice a very peculiar trend. Every one of them has a variable number of home screens, some of them going for 5, 7, and even more, depending on which one you are looking at. This happens because we normally think that every single app in our devices is the most important one and thus, wew place shortcuts and widgets (when available) in our home screen. Also, most people hate having to go through the start menu as it is inconvenient at times. Next thing you know, your homescreen is an utter mess and you cannot find anything without having to look deeply at your screen, which kind of defeats the purpose of having shortcuts on the screens in the first place. Based on his previous app for Windows Mobile, which happened to carry the same name, XDA member MacDegger returns to the development scene with AppGrouper for Android. This app will allow you to place as many of your favorite icons into a single icon, which opens like a folder when clicked, revealing the icons in the process. If you are familiar with iOS 4, then you will know that this is a useful thing to have, particularly if your OCD mandates that all games are grouped together.
The app is the dev’s first for Android and he is looking for good quality feedback to address any and all bugs hat may be present. Please leave some if you try this app.
It seems that with every mobile OS released, I hate the way you launch apps. I always end up with tons of apps and it always gets tedious to find and launch the one I want quickly.
To solve that, I’ve made AppGrouper. It’s a quick, simple, catagorised application launcher. The idea is to pin the app to your homescreen, and launch your apps from there. It frees up all that homescreen real-estate into just one button:
