Backing up and restoring applications is a topic we’ve discussed at length before. Whether you’re flashing a new ROM or moving to a new phone, backing up your applications and saving your app data can be the difference between bragging rights and playing Angry Birds Space for another two months to three-star every level. Thankfully, there’s an application that will help you sync applications and app data across devices.
AppSync is a very simple application that transfers apps and data between Android devices that are connected on the same LAN using multicast, which is what UPnP and DLNA devices use. Developed by XDA Senior Member chrulri, the app can be useful for backing up applications on a spare device you’re not using or even transferring your apps to a new device. Features include:
- Syncing apps data
- Auto-detection of devices in network
- Comparing hashes and timestamps of app data
- All communication is encrypted
While simple, having yet another way to keep apps backed up is always welcome. For further information, go to the application thread._________
