Astro Player for Android

Android users looking for a media player to support audiobooks and podcasts will be happy to learn that XDA forum member Andrew Terekhine has written an application for Android that does just that.

Astro Player not only supports audiobook and podcast playback, but also features an advanced bookmarking functionality and a real bona-fide working equalizer, as well as non-unicode tags support. That’s not it though, Astro Player also shows lyrics, fetches missing album art and includes a file browser with play option.

Currently Astro Player is in beta and Andrew Terekhine is welcoming any feedback and suggestions – according to the Astro Player website, the application will be free for everyone who evaluated the beta version and provided feedback.
