AutomateIt for Android

We all love how simple our devices are to use. Just by touching a button, you can get your device to do pretty much anything from waking up, to snapping a picture, or connecting to your wireless network. We also fear the fact that in a not so distant future, robots will start acting on their own and turn against us in a post apocalyptic battle (I have watched The Matrix one too many times). Until this happens, trying to automate some of the functionality for our devices is the next logical step for development. With this in mind, XDA member Muzikant has developed AutomateIt for Android. This app will allow your device to do any action you ask of it based on certain events, which will be determined by your device. Think of it this way, some of our devices automatically turn the launcher that you are using to a landscape version when you tilt your device 90 degrees, right? Well, the concept is somewhat similar, but with your device being more aware of certain things such as location, time, and many more “trigger-action” pairs that will make it seem as if your device was indeed developing a sense of self awareness.
Please take this for a spin and don’t forget to report any bugs that you may encounter along the path to automation. Also, be sure that you welcome our new Android overlords :).
The application lets you define a set of your desired behaviors in response to events on your Android device. Each behavior/rule is defined as a pair of Trigger-Action that can be selected from a large set including SMS, bluetooth, wifi, location, headset, applications, battery and more triggers/actions.
You can find more information in the application thread.
