Ever since the launch of 4.2 Jelly Bean, Android users have been enjoying Photo Sphere functionality. However, aside from a few online communities in which these souped up panoramas can be viewed, there aren’t too many practical applications for these more immersive exposures.
Thankfully, there is now a new use for all of those Photo Spheres you’ve amassed over the last year, and that’s right on your home screen. XDA Senior Member exisapps shares with us an app he created called Photosphere HD Live Wallpaper. And as you can imagine, it does precisely what its name implies: It displays your Photo Spheres on your home screen.
Swiping horizontally between screens gives you the expected wallpaper scroll you’ve become accustomed to on Android, and swiping vertically allows you to explore your panoramas. Photosphere HD Live Wallpaper is compatible with the panoramas you already have stored on your device, and it allows you to add various effects to your shots, without altering the original image files.
The app’s features, according to the developer:
- Horizontal and vertical rotation
- Sensors support
- Various camera modes
- Cinematic effects
- Color adjustments
- Automatic daytime
- And more!
