The one app that hasn’t seen too much change and progression over the last few iterations of Android is the calendar app. Sure, there are a couple of useful features that have been introduced such as synchronization, themes, and more customization flexibility, but there are definitely some things that we wouldn’t mind seeing in the future.
One of these features yet to be seen can in fact be found in a new app developed by XDA Senior Member SagiLo called Calendar Status. Rather being your conventional calendar app which we’re no doubt quite familiar with, Calendar Status brings to the table something novel, yet practical. So what is it? It’s none other than your very own calendar in your notification bar.
The aptly named Calendar Status displays a notification in the notification area that shows upcoming events that you have on your main calendar app, sort of like a calendar widget, but more convenient. The notification is expandable too, which allows for more information to be displayed, and more space for the events to be listed. There are also quite a few customization options bundled with the app. You can change the colors of the various elements of the notification, such as the notification background, the title, date, and time, such to name a few, as well as switch up the layout of the normal and expanded notification.
Anyone with a device running Android 4.0 or above can give this app a go. So if Calendar Status has gotten you interested, visit the application thread for more information._________
