Control Your Privacy with Shady Contacts

Privacy for many, is a fundamental aspect of their smartphone—be it hiding messages from prying eyes of parents or nosy friends, or hiding contacts and call logs for… privacy purposes. The point is that smartphone users want to take control of privacy of aspects of their smartphone, and that’s exactly what Shady Contacts allow users to do.

Developed by XDA Forum MemberĀ safet.me, Shady Contacts grant Android users the control to hide user-defined messages, contacts and call logs through a pleasant and easy-to-navigate, Holo user interface. Accessed only with a password pin or pattern, Shady Contacts require users to important various contacts into the app to allow privacy control of those contacts. Once a contact is imported, the messages and call logs with that contact will be displayed and by default, any further contact with that person will be hidden from stock Android apps. Settings allow users to hide past conversations and logs with contacts, an option to auto destroy them, and to show Shady Contacts’ icon in the app drawer, among many other configurations.

Safet.me has made Shady Contacts compatible with any Android device running version 2.1 and newer, and the app is available for free from either the thread or the Play store. So if you’re looking to control your privacy, make sure to head over to the original thread for more details and download.
