If you’re like I am, you probably have absolutely no idea how to convert certain units from one to another. With the most notorious personally being Metric to and from Imperial measurements and Fahrenheit to and from Celcius. Google is probably the best friend in quickly converting such units, with a couple of quick clicks and keywords. However what if you’re out and about? Well now you can just whip out Pocket Converter right from your pocket and start converting.
Developed by XDA Forum Member ahmed_14, Pocket Converter is an app that converts a whole catalogue of different units and measurements in a simple and logical manner. These include, along with examples:
- Length (Meters to Feet)
- Mass (Gram to Pound)
- Pressure (Newton/Sq-Meter to Pascal)
- Speed (Km/hr to Miles/hr)
- Power (Watt to Calories/hr)
- Energy (Kilo-joule to Kilo-calorie)
- Torque (Newton Meter to Dyne Meter)
- Angle (Degrees to Radians)
- Data Storage (Bits to Megabits)
- Time (Second to Decade)
- Fuel Consumption (Meter/Liter to Miles/Gallon)
- Electric Current (Ampere to Biot)
- Area (Square Kilometer to Square Mile)
- Volume (Liter to Gallon)
- Temperature (Celcius to Fahrenheit)
- Base (Decimal to Binary)
Selecting a particular conversion will allow users to input a value to be converted, as well as swapping the measurements to generate the antithesis. Pocket Converter is extremely lightweight, taking up a mere 232 kilobytes of memory, so it leaves a relatively minimal footprint on the memory.
Now it can be assumed that users will ever use at most half of the conversions at hand, let alone know what they mean, However, it’s good to know that they’re readily available for any sort of situation that requires such a conversion. Ahmed_14 has made Pocket Converter compatible with any device running Android versions 2.1 and newer, and it can be downloaded for free from the Play store.
