Create Your Own Flashable Zip via ClockworkMod Recovery

Quite some time ago, we brought you news of a mod for the Motorola Triumph that took your current /system partition and turned it into a flashable update.zip. Having such a tool is a great thing, as you can simply apply the mods and themes you want, turn it into your own personalized firmware. Apparently, XDA Recognized Developer and ClockworkMod Recovery creator Koush thought that would be a pretty nifty feature as well.
Thus, the ability to create your own update.zip from within ClockworkMod Recovery was born. Currently, the update is having its code cleaned up and should be available via ROM Manager or through the online interface in the next couple of days. As Koush explains:
you can modify /system and boot/kernel to your liking, and just make a zip using this new feature…it doesn’t include /data and /cache. No personal data is stored in /system.
Essentially, customize the ROM how you want it, use the feature, and then you have a flashable zip with your set up either to share with others or to flash whenever you need it. Since the zip doesn’t contain the /data partition, there should be no qualms about data privacy.
