Many Motorola device users have used a bootstrap in order to get into a custom recovery. While the method does work, being able to boot straight into recovery is a lot easier for many. Now, the Motorola Xyboard has possibly the easiest method of booting into recovery.
XDA Senior Member runandhide05 has posted a method that will get users into recovery faster. As runandhide05 explains:
This is a custom recovery, based off the Bootstrap recovery method originally from Koush
This method hijacks the charge_only_mode and in turns runs a script to boot ClockWorkMod recovery.
How it works is rather simple. Users first install the application, which gives some on-screen instructions that users need to follow. Launching the app gives users the option to boot into recovery by rebooting and then plugging in their charger. The Xyboard then boots into ClockworkMod recovery. Now, the cool thing is that once this process has been done once, it doesn’t have to be done again. For subsequent visits to recovery, users simply need to power off the Xyboard and then plug it into a charger. It then boots automatically into ClockworkMod recovery. How cool is that?
