In a never ending customizable world of Android, developers and hobbyists alike are on a constant journey to make our devices more efficient and better match our personalities. We like to tweak anything we can get our hands on, whether it be a new wallpaper, the hottest new icon pack from The Phlash, or a fully customized theme.
In this article, we’re bringing focus to what one such XDA member has been doing to make his device better, and what he has to offer the rest of the community because of it. Meet XDA Senior Member Shaftamle.
Shaftamle has been hard at work with his hobby of modifying his Android phone, including the keyboard from his favorite ROM. More specifically, the Google Keyboard (which also can now be downloaded from Google Play as a standalone app as an alternative to the AOSP keyboard). He has taken the Google Keyboard apart and customized it with many different colors, which he then posted on XDA for other members to download and enjoy. Shaftamle does offer two choices to download: either a direct download of the keyboard APK, which can be installed with any package installer, or a flashable zip that can be downloaded to your SD card and flashed through recovery.
So if you are interested in a new colorful look for your keyboard, swing by Shaftamle’s keyboard thread and have a look.
