CyanogenMod 7 Ported To Motorola Droid X2, Opens Possibilities For AOSP/ICS ROMs

Forum member dragonzkiller has manged to port CyanogenMod 7.2.0 to the Motorola Droid X2. Sure, it’s based on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread, while other devices like the original Droid are getting Android 4.0 now, but for the Droid X2, this CM7 port is not only completely free of the Blur skin, it also opens to the door for further development work. As the dev notes, this port is the “first step” to getting AOSP, MIUI and even CyanogenMod 9 and other Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs running on the Droid X2.
This ROM contains all the CM7 features you’d expect, but not everything works yet. For example, FM radio isn’t working, though that may be fixed soon, while HDMI is not supported by CM7 at all. Also, if you want to flash this ROM, you have to be on Android 2.3.4, and there’s of course always the possibility of bricking your device – so be careful.
With this in mind, continue to the forum thread, which contains download links and the full instructions.
