Ever find yourself tapping away at the calculator application on your device? If your aptitude for mental arithmetic is anything like mine, it’s probably one of your most commonly used applications. Although if you actually use the calculator for more complex problems, chances are that you will want to upgrade to one with more advanced functionality. Luckily, there are no shortage of options in the world of scientific calculators. However, what if you need a scientific calculator that can “float” above your other running apps, and thus always be at hand?
This is where DarkCalc by XDA Forum Member darkpain comes into play. It is a versatile calculator app that can either be used as a standard app or as a floating app. It is based on the open source project, StandOut, which makes it easier for developers to code floating applications. The app itself does pretty much what you would expect, offering either basic or scientific calculators in fixed or floating mode. It allows users to drag and resize the window, as well as offering various other useful options such as haptic feedback.
The application is available for users running Android 2.2 or greater. You can get started by visiting the original thread._________
