Deer Reader Brings Fresh Google Reader Experience

There are quite a few Google Reader apps available for the Android platform. Some are solid and stable, while others never make it out of beta. We’ve even brought you news on a few of them. There is now a new RSS app out called Deer Reader, which shows much promise.
The app comes from the dev duo of XDA Forum Member lz2323 and XDA Senior Member blackbearblanc. If they sound familiar, it’s because they released an RSS widget before called Big News. Deer Reader is a more mainstream RSS app that keeps it simple. It still brings the features, though. They include:
Google Reader sync
Widgets – 4×1 static / 4×4 scrollable, including dark/light and transparent themes.
News in Jelly Bean notification dropdown (!)
In addition, newer versions of the app are compatible with their other RSS app, so you can use both if you’d like. The initial betas had some issues, but both developers have been working hard to fix every bug and plug every hole. The latest release is beta 7, which no one has any complaints about so far. So if you’re looking for a simple RSS reader with a decent theme and solid performance, this is one to try out.
For downloads, check the original thread. Please note, later versions of the app haven’t been posted in the OP. You’ll need to read through the thread to find them.
