Disable Camera Sounds on Your SGS 2

Are you annoyed out of your mind that you cannot take a picture of your sleeping baby without him/her waking up due to the shutter sound made by your SGS 2? If this or a similar situation is something that you can relate to, then you should definitely visit the thread created by XDA member kohiiou. In this thread, the dev will guide you step by step into gaining control over the sound made by your camera app. In essence, there is a series of steps involving playing with the local.prop file, but ultimately resulting in a very nice and quiet camera. In fact, after the steps are completed, you should be able to control the sound of the camera via System volume. So, if you are not keen on a completely silent camera, this should please you as well.

The changes made are completely reversible as they don’t involve erasing anything at all. As an added bonus, the dev also explains a possible fix for the battery drain that many people are experiencing. Please drop by the thread and leave some feedback or suggestions if you have any.
