I’m sure you’re familiar with Flickr, it’s one of the most popular ways available for people to easily upload and share their photos. Due to that popularity, it has it’s fair share of third party applications, While some stick the standard uploading/viewing features, others try to differentiate themselves by looking at the photo sharing experience from a different angle. Flickr Earth definitely falls into the latter category.
Developed by XDA Forum Member yunusual, the app focuses on displaying Flickr photographs by the geographical location in which they were taken. There are a few ways of browsing photographs using the application, browsing photographs via a map of the world, any photos taken in a specific location are clearly marked. Entering a geographical region and searching the tags of photos taken within that region, or simply by searching Flickr itself. Other notable features include:
- Advanced search (Tags, Date Range, etc…)
- Viewing a photo also reveals a wealth of information, everything from the uploaders username to the type of Camera used to take the shot.
- Photographs viewed can also be saved to the device or shared via the web.
So if you’re a Flickr fan or just curious to see what the local shutterbugs have been photographing in your area, you can find Flickr Earth in its original application thread._________
