Don’t Get Distracted While Driving with CarMode v3 for Android

Here is the scenario, you are driving down the expressway and all of the sudden you need to check something in your device. Since you cannot take your eyes off the road (or at least shouldn’t), instead of opening the app that you were looking for, you open something completely different. XDA member xr4v3nx has come up with an app to finish off the mistakes and let you drive peacefully in the process.
CarMode is a GPS looking UI, which will put large size icons in an easy to access UI. You have several categories in which to place different shortcuts to apps, settings, and more. The app is in alpha stage, but promises to become better with the support from our community.
Introducing CarMode, an alternative to Car Home. Basically what it does is it shows you huge buttons to important apps that you might use when driving a vehicle with less distraction than manually waking your phone, opening the app drawer, etc. Unlike Car Home, this app will give you more flexibility and more settings to poke around with (even better in future updates).
Looks best with MDPI devices (320×480 resolution, e.g. Droid Eris).
You can find more information in the app thread.
