A few days ago, we brought you coverage of the HTC Dumlock method for the HTC EVO 3D and HTC Sensation. Now this method of flashing to the boot partition through recovery has made it’s way to the HTC Rezound.
Put simply, we make backups of recovery and boot, then we flash the backup of recovery to boot. When you reboot normally, you’ll be in your recovery, but since your recovery is flashed to boot, you can make changes to boot.
For those who aren’t familiar, the Dumlock is applied so users can flash full ROMs—including the boot partition, which was previously locked down unless users flashed using fastboot. Having to flash things over fastboot to get to the boot partition is an unfortunate side effect of the official htcdev unlock method.
