Easier File Managing with DatFM

Easier File Managing with DatFM

File managing was never something meant to be too overly complicated. Rather, the more simplicity and intuitiveness an explorer app offers, the better. So it’s hard for many file managing apps to differentiate themselves from each other in the market, often with more ‘share’ intent options, or differing aesthetics atop a similarly functioning user interface.

XDA Senior Member Zorge.R developed DatFM, a file manager with a simple, yet practical difference. Unlike many other apps intending the same functionality, DatFM has a dual panel for managing your files. In other words, it offers two panels capable of displaying 2 folders side by side. Because of this feature, users can now easily manage, copy, paste files and folders between multiple files easier and faster. A bar at the bottom of the app displays the familiar buttons such as share, copy, cut, and paste among others. Additionally, the back button and a button to jump to first file/folder  are located at the top of both panels. DatFM also offers root-level file management capabilities for rooted users.

Compatible in both vertical and horizontal orientations, DatFM’s double panels are best utilized on tablets or devices with larger screens. Currently in alpha version, Zorge.R does emphasize to not use the app with important data. However, if you would still like to give it a go, DatFM is available for free with more details in the original thread.
