Aside from serving as an aesthetically appealing clock widget replacement on devices running Android 4.2 and newer, Roman Nurik’s DashClock Widget is also extensible through the use of various different types of helper apps. And since DashClock Widget can be placed on your device’s lock screen, these helper apps can be accessed without the need to unlock your device.
Now, there’s a DashClock extension that lets you identify tunes quickly and easily. Coming from XDA Recognized Developer tiwiz, WhatSong does as it says and identifies what song is playing. It can search using various providers such as Shazam, SoundHound, Google Now, and more.
Make your way over to the application thread to give WhatSong a try. The application is currently under development, so users looking to stay on the bleeding edge of the application’s functionality can join the app’s Google+ Community beta program.
