Here at XDA, we are all about personalizing our smartphone experience as much as possible. While several of the modifications that we feature here involve flashing zips and tinkering with configuration files, and so on, there are certain simple things that can be done with just the right app. Like any modern mobile OS, Android comes with support for custom ringtones, message alerts, and alarm sounds.
There are plenty of apps out there that let you browse through countless audio files for these system sounds. But to truly personalize your device, why not make your own tones from your favorite audio files? Furthermore, why bother using an audio editor on your desktop computer for the slicing, when you can do it right from your Android device? XDA Forum Member sergeyotro has created Ringtone Slicer to do just that!
As the name suggests, the app allows you to load an audio file and slice a part of it to be used as your custom ringtone or notification sound. There is a built-in file explorer to let you easily pick the file, and you can use pinch-to-zoom gestures to easily specify the starting and ending point with precision.
Head over to the forum thread to grab the app so that you can start slicing your own custom ringtones in no time!_________
