EFS Pro by XDA Recognized Developer lyriquidperfection has just received another major update to version 1.7.13. EFS Pro is a Windows application for backing-up and restoring information in the elusive /efs partition on Samsung devices. XDA Member Advocate Admin EGZTHUNDER1 originally reported on this app and also on a major update.
Lyriquidperfection says this update includes a custom framework to handle communication between abd.exe and the connected device. This makes the app very stable, secure, and fast. MD5 hashing is now implemented during backup and restore to check integrity. Lastly, and according to the developer a “big one,” since some devices have the /efs files in different partitions, the app now can detect the correct partition. This “future proofs” the app, and makes it compatible with many more devices without any changes to the code. As of right now, EFS Pro is confirmed working on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Galaxy Tab series, Galaxy Note, Galaxy SII and Galaxy SIII.
If you’re already a user of EFS Pro or are hearing about this fantastic app for the first time, head on down to the original thread and check out the latest version.
