Enable Wireless N on EVO 4G

Enable Wireless N on EVO 4G

You may have heard that the EVO 4G’s wifi chip supports wireless N technology, but how do you go about enabling this on a Sense ROM?

XDA forum member chuckhriczko has found a way to do this and has even provided the download link for the required driver if you don’t fancy editing the /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko file.  If you fancy having a go yourself using a hex editor, it is in this file that you can see where HTC disabled the wireless N and it is the same file where you can re-enable it.

Some knowledge of using adb to pull and push files to your device is required and of course a wireless N capable router or access point  will be needed to test the results.
