Ice Cream Sandwich has been a little screwy for some Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc owners. Between some WiFi and Bluetooth issues, and some issues getting Face Unlock and Gapps to work; it has been an uphill battle to make the recently released ICS beta work well.
Thankfully, there’s ways to fix these problems. XDA Senior Member dinesh690, with some help from XDA Recognized Developer DooMLoRD of Team UtterChaos, has put together a method that will fix many issues with the ICS Beta and it doesn’t require a whole lot of effort.
The guide will run users through how to get install a recovery and get root. Then it guides users through each fix required until ICS is up and running properly. For the most part, it’s simply installing the Gapps from CyanogenMod9, a Superuser fix in recovery, and some good old fashioned build.prop tweaks.
For anyone who wants to install Ice Cream Sandwich on their Xperia Arc and have it run right, you can check out the full methods in the original thread. As usual, don’t forget rule number 1 of flashing anything: make a backup first!
