You’re probably used to scouring various websites in order to find all that you need to know about movies you intend on watching. Wouldn’t it be great, however, if all the information were available at your fingertips? Sure, there are plenty of apps that act as front ends for IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, and so on; but most of these apps either lack multiple content sources or they’re just not as aesthetically appealing as we’d like.
XDA Forum Member Uroborus aims to change this with his latest application Movie Roll. So what does it do? It currently lets you organize and discover movies, find information about your favorite celebrities, and most importantly, find out which movies you would like to watch next. In the words of the developer:
– Full movie information, budget and revenue
– Movie reviews and trivia
– Posters, photos and images
– IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Flixter ratings
– Similar movies and collections of movies
– New openings and future upcomings in theaters
– New DVD releases
– Most popular and movies for today
– Top box office
– Oscar awards, Golden Globe awards
– Subgenre charts: Steampunk, Girls with Guns, Time Travel, Zombies and many more
Perhaps the best part of Uroborus’s app, aside from the wealth of information that is readily available at your fingertips, is the beautiful user interface. And as demonstrated by the screenshot in the thumbnail, the interface is right at home, on both phones and tablets. And if you happen to be accessing the information on a large screened device, you will be treated to a multi pane interface that is clearly built keeping both the Holo UI guidelines and the Fragments API in mind.
Head over to the application thread to find out all you’ve ever wanted to know about your favorite movies and their stars._________
