Find Out Virtually Everything About the Snapdragon S4

There is a lot that goes into development. For most users, they’ll only ever have to deal with the high-level parts of programming. Changing the way the UI looks, Android applications, and most ROM development deals with high-level programming. There are many more developers, though, who like to tinker with the low level parts of development, and thus get a bit closer to the hardware. There’s a place on XDA for you guys, too.
XDA Recognized Developer E:V:A has posted pretty much any and all relevant information about the Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor. For those who don’t know, the S4 is a pretty popular chip that is used in various new mobile devices. This includes the US variants of the Samsung Galaxy S III, the HTC One X, the HTC One S, and many devices not yet released.
E:V:A puts up pretty much any documentation you can find on the internet as well as a lot of information you can only find in places like XDA. This includes things like Block Diagrams, Krait processing flow charts, and pretty much any other diagram or chart you could need. There is even a section that organizes the information that came out during the great Verizon Galaxy S III Bootloader unlocking.
Of course, it’s not just a place for information, but also a place to learn more about the S4. E:V:A has not just included a list of info, but also a list of things that still need to be learned about the S4, including:
A. Understand the MSM8960 Memory Map
B. Understand the MSM8960 HW registers (GPIO, GSBI, I2C, UART, SPI, Qfuses etc.)
C. Understand the bootloader code (Secure Boot 3.0)
D. To provide a permanent and early alternative boot-route that
cannot be disabled or hijacked by rogue firmware updates.
(Sound funny, doesn’t it, when you change perspective!?)
E. Collect additional information on the MSM8960
So whether you’re interested in learning more about the S4 or interested in contributing more about the S4, there’s a little something for everyone. To learn more, go the original thread.
