It’s already established that the Android smartphone or tablet is one’s best friend, as well as a companion in countless situations and events. It’s the entertainment center at home or on the go, the portable ‘PC’ for trips, the friendly assistant that reminds you that an assignment’s due the next day, and now, it can also help you locate where you can TakeABreak.
Developed by XDA Senior Member icechen1, the same user who gave us Notable and Metal Sniffer, TakeABreak is an app that helps you locate all nearby water fountains, public restrooms, and restaurants that are in your vicinity. By drawing maps from Google Maps, the app can display four different map types: normal view, satellite, hybrid, and terrain. New waypoints for water fountains, public restrooms and restaurants not yet displayed in the app can be added via an Android OpenStreetMap editor such as Vespucci. Settings are simple, allowing you to filter what waypoints you want to be displayed on the app.
TakeABreak will most certainly be an extremely helpful and useful app if you’re planning a holiday, hiking or camping trip, or just enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. TakeABreak is compatible with any device running Android version 2.1 or up, and is free in the Play store. If this sounds like something you would like to try out, head over to the original thread for more details._________
