Fireplace Marked: An Alternative Market
Posted January 23, 2012 at 06:00 pm by Jase Glenn
As Android continues its growth in popularity, new markets continue popping up all over. From Amazon’s offering to the standard Google Marketplace, diversity is what makes Android so incredible. However, a new Market has been created by XDA Senior Member spxc.
Known as Fireplace Marked (yes you read that correctly), it is an up and coming third party app store designed to be improved via community feedback. The app is still in the beta stages, but in the words of spxc it currently has:
•View / Download apps
•Repository (doesn’t do anything ATM)
•Storage / Info
•Search (not working ATM)
The developer is also looking for people to contribute to the app here. So if you have SQL, Java, and/or HTML experience and wish to put your skills to use, send the dev an email or a pm. You can also follow the progress on his blog here.
So head on over and give Fireplace a look; your phone will thank you for it.
