Fix Found For Touchscreen Blues For Sensation Owners

It seems that Sensation owners have had a few issues since purchasing this brand new offering by HTC. According to several reports across the web, the device in question seems to have problems with the touchscreen which start manifesting within a week or so after use. Certain areas of the screen become unresponsive with no apparent reason behind it. After a lot of testing and trial and error, the faulty screen was attributed to the ground to the device’s body coming lose and thus causing static electricity build up, which ends up affecting the screen. Thankfully, XDA member zmfl found a solution that would possibly fix your issues if you are indeed experiencing these problems. Keep in mind that it is possible that your particular issues are being caused by other defects. But all in all, it may be worth a shot.
Please read everything carefully and post your feedback and results so that others can follow the correct steps if they need some tweaking.
The issue addressed here is related to a small silver pin located on the back of the phone (pictures below). That damn thing is the screen’s “grounding” connection to the back cover (more about that in abrown0809’s post here). In time (one week approx.) the pin starts loosing proper contact to the cover, and the screen becomes unresponsive. This is either due to the cover getting loose, or because the pin isn’t built the way it should be (thanks HTC). You might also experience this issue after installing an aftermarket battery (Anker, Chichitec, etc.), since they are usually thicker. A thicker battery could easily separate the back cover from the pin.
