If you don’t use the stock Android music player on your device, you might find the notification controls for the music player useless since the player that you do use cannot hook into these controls.
XDA forum member djmcnz found that the option to turn these controls off in the Music app to be unreliable and decided to fix the issue himself.
The fix involves a modification to the framework which actively hides the controls on every boot. The Music app can also be removed, whilst the controls remain hidden.
For those of you interested in the code, the XDA member has added some code to the framework-res.apk/res/layout/statusbar_expanded.xml file in the music controls section.
For more information including the flashable update.zip, head on over to the modification thread._________
