FlashBlink Delivers Camera Flash Call Notification

Difficulty:
1

There are numerous ways that our devices can notify us of an incoming call. Aside from the obvious methods such as annoying ringtones and vibration, certain people out there like to be notified of this in a somewhat different manner. After receiving numerous requests, XDA senior member faiyyaz has developed FlashBlink, a simple yet functional little application which will, as you may have already guessed, cause your camera flash LED to blink when you have an incoming call.

The application is also capable of acting as a torch by toggling the flash on and off at will. This function is activated by opening the app which will also display an analogue desk clock. I might be way off the mark here but I suspect that this is intended for people like myself who have an annoying tendency to wake up, check the time and inevitably end up walking into or standing on something in the dark. If this app can put an end to that, I’ll be a happy man.

The developer states that FlashBlink is currently not compatible with Android 4.0. I found this to be only partly true in that the incoming call notification does not currently work, but the app itself will install and run with the other functions working perfectly.

If you think this may be of use to you, please visit the original application thread.
