FlashBlink Receives Major Update

While most applications receive regular updates to add functionality and squash bugs, sometimes a developer feels the need to give their app a complete overhaul, either to achieve compatibility with a newer version of Android or simply to give it a complete refresh. Whatever the reason, these major updates are usually quite well received by the application’s loyal fan base. FlashBlink by XDA Recognised Developer faiyyaz is no exception.
The basic premise of the app is that it uses your device’s camera flash LED as a notification light. This is useful for those who either do not have a notification light to begin with or simply need something a little more attention-grabbing. We first brought you news of FlashBlink way back in March of last year, and since then it has proven to be an incredibly useful and popular application. Faiyyaz recently made an updated version of the app available via the Play Store due to user request. The application, which is now at version 5.0, has undergone some major changes since we last mentioned it, and now includes features such as:
- Support for all Android devices with an LED flash
- Customisable repeating notifications for missed/unread SMS
- Notifications for third party applications
- Torch widget
- Support for custom profiles
- Full Holo makeover
Overall, the application is a lot more flexible and polished thanks to its new Holo look. It is definitely one to check out whether you’re already a fan and have yet to update, or need to make your notifications unmissable. Check out the application thread for more details.
