Flashify Receives Major Update: New Devices, Added Functionality

Back in July, we took a look at Flashify by XDA Senior Member cgollner and Recognized Developer franciscofranco. The app essentially allowed users to easily backup and flash their devices starting from within the Android OS. And due to clever use of Android’s intent system, the app also allowed users to flash from any app with access to the to-be-flashed files.

Back then, device support was unfortunately a bit lacking, as only several Nexus devices were officially reported as compatible. But since then, the app has seen many updates, which have not only boosted compatibility but also added a few new features. Now, the list of devices that have been reported as compatible by users comes in at nearly 100. Furthermore, the app also now allows for cloud syncing for your kernel and recovery backups. And with the latest update, users are now able to download TWRP and CRM recoveries, as well as their device’s build of franco.Kernel from within the app.

Just as before, Flashify is officially a paid app on the Google Play Store. However, due to cgollner’s generosity, he has made it available for free to the XDA community. Just look in the downloads section of the app’s DevDB entry.

In the few short months since its release, Flashify has gained some seriously impressive features. So if you’re a current user, or are just now finding about it, head over to the application thread to get started.

[Many thanks to franciscofranco for the tip!]
