Animals are making appearances in more games than ever before. If it’s not a pig being attacked by a bird or a crocodile trying to take a shower, it’s a platypus being beamed around in large glass tubes. Another game to continue this trend is Opposite Sheep, posted by XDA Forum Member lildoskers. This is a game that puts a unique modern twist on an old classic—and adds sheep!
Opposite Sheep is based on the tactical game of Checkers (or Draughts, depending on your geographical location). The basic premise of the game remains the same, but with a number of additions along the way. The aim of the game is to move as many of your sheep as you can from one side of the board to the other, gaining points along the way. Each sheep can only move one space at a time. And if you come across your opponent’s sheep, you can take them out of the game, and gain extra points. As you travel across the board, you’ll come across a number of obstacles. These include ice, rocks, and walls, all of which impede your progress. Luckily, you’ll also come across a number of bonuses, including extra moves and extra sheep.
The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the game. There are a number of game modes available:
- Single player, where you battle against the computer.
- Multiplayer, which lets two users play against each other on the same device.
- Online mode, where you can compete against other players across the internet.
The game has cute graphics and a fun soundtrack to keep you amused, and is a game for all ages.
If you want to give it a try, head on over to the game thread.
