Froyo on… ASUS Transformer?

You have got to love how past, present, and future can meet in our devices. In a rather kafka-esque type of event, the Android bee has turned itself into a delicious treat because it seems that some Asus Transformers that went for a few customers left with Froyo installed in them. As odd as this may seem, something with as much hardware power as the Transformer should run Froyo rather decently, which is good news for those out there for whom Honeycomb is not as sweet as they would want it to be. XDA member SlimDan22 has posted a thread with a couple of dumps (one of them partial) for devs to play with. As an added bonus, the dump seems to contain several diagnostics tools, which revealed a few interesting things such as the possible existence of FM radio hardware living in the tab.
If you think that you can help to figure out this weird backward development, please drop by the thread and leave some comments.
A few users have gotten Transformers with Android 2.2 installed with diagnostic tools included. So far there have been 3 confirmed users who have gotten these units. We only got a partial system dump so far, the user who provided it was persuaded into doing a data wipe which erased many diagnostic tools
You can find more information in the dump thread.
