Who knew cutting fruit was fun? A concept pioneered and popularized by that popular game Fruit Ninja, which made its first splash on the iPhone and then to Android and Windows Phone soon after. It’s mindlessly fun, requiring no skill whatsoever of the player to have a good time.
Well now there’s a very similar game called Fruit Slasher, independently developed by XDA Forum Member BeetlePlay, which consists of the same fruit-slashing concept as its aforementioned predecessor. Made with the Unity engine, Fruit Slasher’s gameplay simply consists of slashing various fruits such as bananas, apples, and dragonfruit—earning you the in-game currency of coins. In addition to just slashing fruit, combos can be achieved by slashing multiple fruits in quick succession to increase coins even further.
Challenge is incorporated into the gameplay with poor hamsters chucked among the fruit, which if slashed, take a strike out of the four strikes allowable. Fruits and hamsters can be slashed and cut numerous times into multiple tiny pieces and parts, and there’s also an in-game store that trades in coins.
Delivered with gorgeous graphics and very smooth animations, Fruit Slasher shows much potential and a possible competitor to Fruit Ninja in the future. BeetlePlay has made this fruit slashing madness available for all users using Android versions 2.2 and newer, and it can be downloaded from the Play store for free.
