Full Beginner’s Root Guide to the All Versions of the Archos Gen9

When a device is released, one of the first things on everyone’s mind is obtaining root access. When the same device is released a bunch of times in different regions, sizes and sometimes even with different storage media types (platter or solid-state), it takes a bit longer for all of them to partake in the joys of root. And given the changes in firmware, sometimes it’s not even the same root method.
For Archos Gen9 owners, regardless of type, you no longer have to worry about this problem. XDA Senior Member Shano56 has released a tutorial that will get all Archos Gen9 tablets rooted with a single, universal method. The tutorial leads Gen9 users through the basics of rooting. Users will start with obtaining root, move on to enabling SDE, and finally onto getting Ice Cream Sandwich running on the tablet courtesy of a rooted firmware.
It’s one of the more organized tutorials available, so users will have no trouble following along. Users looking to give this a shot will be calling upon their ADB skills to flash a few things. Nothing too serious, though, as it is pretty basic for a root method.
If you’re looking to root your Archos Gen9 and are having problems finding the right tutorial, head over to the original thread to find all the information you need.
