You may remember a couple of weeks ago that we published an article regarding the newly acquired ability of the Asus Transformer to connect to VPN networks via OpenVPN. It looks like this is beginning to spread across Honeycomb enabled devices because we just got word that the LG G-Slate is the latest device to be able to use this kind of functionality. XDA member ru1dev has been able to compile and include the tun.ko module that is basically responsible for allowing this (and most) devices to connect to VPN networks among many other things. This is a major functionality piece that is missing from most tabs (at least the moment they come out of the factory), but it looks like our devs are hard at work in patching this and many other deficiencies in our devices. The dev has posted a rather clear set of instructions with links and downloads on how to get it working on your G-Slate.
Please leave some feedback if this is something that you were able to do or if you had any issues while setting this up.
I just compiled a tun.ko and got OpenVPN working on the Tmobile Gslate! so I thought I would share:
